My testimony (the short version)
I have created this blog to eliminate “over” posting
inspirational scriptures and post on Facebook.
I hope you will share this blog with others, and that you find it
uplifting. I am excited to invite you to
follow me through my journey of life.
I am a sinner like every other person out there. I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord &
Savior! I first accepted Jesus into my
heart and life in September 2006 at the altar of James River Assembly in Ozark,
MO. The road has been anything BUT
smooth sailing. I have stumbled many
times along the way since that Sunday morning in 2006. I have struggled with alcohol, anger,
depression and the list goes on. I have
fought the devil for the aisle on many, many occasions. I would be lying if I said I never let him
win.
This past year has been especially eye opening for me. I found myself “thinking” I was turning to
God, and following His desires, when in reality I was filtering what I wanted
to hear. It wasn’t until I travelled to
San Ana El Salvador with a team from JRA Kids for a week long mission trip that
I was brought to my knees. I haven’t been
the same since we got back! I still find
myself at times struggling with worldly things, people and the list goes
on.
So every day I think Him for this life I don’t deserve! I think Him for His grace that I don’t deserve!
He will take care of all our needs! He truly wants nothing but what is
best! When we complain and grumble, we
are missing out on all God has for us! It
is important that we remember that God brings Hope to a Hopeless world! I am learning every day that I cannot let the
pressure of my past mistakes hold me back from my future! LIVE BY FAITH & NOT BY FEAR!
Looking to others instead of God for help can and will open
the door for trouble in your life. That is why God wants you to look to Him,
instead of other sources, because unlike others, He will never harm you or
mislead you. Trust me when I say I know how hard this is to grab! I always want to be in the driver seat, I want to keep asking till I get the answer I am looking for. What is so incredibly awesome though, God is not only able to help you, but He is very willing
to help you with everything, for He loves you! Therefore you can trust God to
always be willing to help you.
It is important that we remember God doesn't test you to hurt you, but so you can
experience victory. He walks in faith and believes you will win every test. He
is like a confident parent who tells their child to "Go out there and show
them what you can do," expecting them to win.
Many people are afraid that God's Word will put them in bondage
-- because of the rules they think they will have to
follow. But Jesus said God's Word would make you free.
We are not guaranteed instant results, although sometimes
they do happen. Freedom is certain, however, if you stick with God's Word.
Jesus gave His guarantee!
John 10:22-42 talks about understanding the Fathers Heart! We have to forgive to be forgiven. That in itself took me a long time to grasp. God forgives us the moment we ask! You have to admit, that is pretty cool!
Welcome to this journey we call life!
